OnePlus 12 will have the industry's first 9140 mm² steam cooling chamber

OnePlus is preparing to launch its latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 12, and it looks like the device will be very powerful.

A recent AnTuTu benchmark test conducted by Digital Chat Station showed that OnePlus 12 scored an impressive 2,333,033 points, thanks in part to its innovative cooling system. Now, OnePlus has shed some light on the cooling mechanism of the OnePlus 12.

OnePlus 12: cooling of the 9140 mm² steam chamber

In a recent post on Weibo, OnePlus China President Li Jie Lui said that the phone boasts the industry’s first 9,140 mm² steam chamber, covering a huge area of 38,547 mm².

It also uses the “world’s first integrated dual-cycle heat dissipation system” that uses two layers of heat dissipation cavities that work in tandem to keep the phone cool even under heavy use.

Inspired by rocket technology, the OnePlus 12’s cooling mechanism also incorporates advanced materials such as heat-conducting gel and superconducting graphite to further improve heat dissipation.

Rainwater touch function

The company has also demonstrated its ability to withstand rainy conditions without experiencing ghosting or false touches during a simulated rain test, outperforming the iPhone 15 Pro.

OnePlus calls this feature “Rainwater Touch” and introduced it in August on the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro, making the OnePlus 12 the second phone to feature this technology. Read more about how this technology works in our special article.

More details about the device will be revealed after its launch in a few days.
