NetEase Cloud Music’s beta app for Huawei’s HarmonyOS has received an update, bringing the version to 9.5.84. This new version, available in the ‘App Early Adopters’ section of the Huawei App Gallery, introduces the highly anticipated ability to import local music files directly into the app.
Key Update Highlights
The update, which went live on September 5th but had its changelog shared recently, includes several improvements beyond local file import:
- Support for Local Music Import: Users can now add their own music files stored on their devices to the NetEase Cloud Music app.
- Login Bug Fix: A previously intermittent issue where the login process would not respond has been resolved.
- Crash Fixes: Several crash issues, particularly those related to SVG files, have been addressed.
- Performance Optimization: The loading performance of the playlist page has been improved, leading to a smoother user experience.
HarmonyOS Integration Progress
This update follows the initial release of the NetEase Cloud Music HarmonyOS version in late August. At that time, the app was made available on the Huawei App Gallery’s ‘App Early Adopters’ zone. This collaborative effort between Huawei and NetEase aims to provide a seamless music experience on HarmonyOS devices.
The HarmonyOS beta version of NetEase Cloud Music was jointly developed by Huawei and NetEase. It prioritizes core music listening functions such as playback, recommendations, search, and sharing, along with the popular song comment sections.
Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, previously stated that the initial beta version focused on delivering essential features. This latest update, with the addition of local music import, further enhances the app’s utility and integration within the HarmonyOS ecosystem, offering users more flexibility in managing their music libraries.
The continuous development and feature additions to the NetEase Cloud Music HarmonyOS beta version signal a growing commitment to the platform and a desire to provide a comprehensive music streaming service tailored for Huawei users. As the beta progresses, further enhancements and feature rollouts are expected.
