Man threatens to kill Trump via TikTok

An Indiana man was arrested after police said he posted several TikToks calling for the assassination of President Donald Trump. The FBI arrested Douglas Trump on January 23, 2025, after he allegedly posted several videos calling for the violent overthrow of the United States. “Every US government building should be immediately blown up,” he said in one of the videos, according to court documents.

As first reported by the Judicial Watch, Trumps is a 23-year-old resident of South Bend, Indiana, who did not take Trump’s return to the White House well. The FBI reported that Trumps began posting a series of videos calling for Trump’s assassination after his inauguration on January 20.

The FBI said that in one of the videos, Trumps holds a rifle and taps it. “A little friendly reminder (tapping the rifle) that we have a Second Amendment right. We also have in our Declaration of Independence the right to take control of the government and even possibly create a new one. Therefore, I am asking the question again – when, where, at what time, give me the coordinates,” he said, according to the transcript of the video in the court materials.

“While other people are going to appear, I will appear. I will bring my Second Amendment right. In fact, I will bring as many of my Second Amendment rights as I can. But I just need to know when we’re going to do it, where we’re going to do it, how we’re going to do it, because it needs to be done. It has to be done. This time, there is literally no way forward without violence. I’m sorry.”

In the video, where he talked about bombing government buildings, Trumps also discussed assassinating Trump. “Referring to President Donald Trump, Trumps stated that ‘he needs to be killed, and this time don’t miss,'” the criminal complaint said.

In the videos shared by the FBI, Trumps called for a leader; he did not call himself the leader of a movement. “Tell me where to point the damn guns, and we can hunt down the Nazis,” he said, according to court records.

“In the same video, Trumps stated: “Our Declaration of Independence says that if we see fit, we the people see fit, that we are being run by a tyrannical government or just an evil government, that we are legally allowed to use our rights, laws, amendments and the constitution to take control of that government, maybe even create a new government if we have to. So yes, I’m all for that. As I said, I’m ready to paint the city red, but I’m not in charge of anything. Just tell me where to go.”

The FBI charged Trumps with “interstate communication with a threat of bodily harm,” a crime that carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
