Connecting to VoLTE

- Check whether your smartphone supports VoLTE technology by calling *127# or on the lifecell website;
- Make sure that the SIM card supports 4G/LTE. If the subscriber’s device abroad supports VoLTE technology and the SIM card does not support 4G, you need to replace the SIM card with a new one by transferring the number to the eSIM;
- Set up VoLTE on your phone by following the steps for iOS or Android, respectively;
- To roam, select the T-Mobile network in the smartphone settings;
- You need to be within the 4G/LTE coverage area when making a call.
VoLTE (Voice over LTE) allows you to transmit a voice call over a 4G/LTE network instead of a conventional 2G/3G voice network. Unlike traditional 2G and 3G technologies, it provides a faster connection, better voice quality, and the ability to use high-speed Internet and voice calls simultaneously.
For example, during a call, you can simultaneously share the Internet, stream video, or use navigation on your smartphone without interrupting the conversation. The use of VoLTE technology does not involve an additional activation fee, and calls are charged according to the terms of the subscriber’s current tariff.
Using the 5G network
As for the 5G network, it provides high-quality data transmission without delays and does not affect the cost of the Internet in roaming.
To use the 5G connection, you must:
- Be in a 5G coverage area;
- Your phone must support 5G;
- Use a digital eSIM card;
- The 5G network must be selected in the phone settings.
VoLTE is available in roaming for subscribers in Canada and the United Kingdom, and 5G network is available in roaming in more than 50 countries for lifecell subscribers.
