So far, we’ve seen several leaks that reveal key details about the iPhone 16 series. Today, another big leak has appeared, showing dummy units of all the phones in the line.
The image is courtesy of longtime Apple leaker Sonny Dickson, who previously posted the entire set of machined blanks for the iPhone 16 series. So there is a high probability that this is a real deal.
The most noticeable change is the camera arrangement in the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. They will abandon the diagonal camera arrangement of their predecessors in favor of a vertical one. While there are not many changes in the design of Pro models.
The switch to vertical camera placement on standard iPhones is intended to support the recording of spatial videos that can be played back in Apple Vision Pro in 3D.
Another notable change is the size of the Pro models’ screens. The iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a 6.9-inch display compared to the 6.7-inch display of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, making it the largest Pro Max model in history.
The iPhone 16 Pro will also have a slightly larger screen at 6.3 inches, up from 6.1 inches on the iPhone 15 Pro. The standard iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, however, will keep their screen sizes at 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively.
Apart from these changes, the dummy devices offer little in the way of new design features. Although rumors suggest a dedicated Capture button to control the camera, we don’t see it in these replicas.
As usual, we can expect the new iPhones to arrive in September. While this may seem like a long wait, it’s likely that new leaks will appear during this period.
