iOS 18.4 update with priority notifications is almost here

Apple is nearing the launch of Priority Notifications, a feature that uses artificial intelligence to automatically identify important notifications on the iPhone and make them more prominent on the lock screen. This feature is included in the iOS 18.4 release candidate released on Monday, as previously reported by MacRumors.

Along with Priority Notifications, the iOS 18.4 release candidate brings support for Matter-compatible robotic vacuums, allowing you to control a wider range of devices through Apple Home. Other features expected to come with the update include AI-generated summaries of App Store reviews, new keyboard shortcuts, and support for Apple Intelligence for the iPhone 15 Pro.

There’s also more information about what’s coming in watchOS 11.4. The release notes state that “there will be an option to allow Sleep-Wake alarms to break through silent mode.” This means that you can set an alarm on your Apple Watch even if you have turned off all other notifications. Apple has also released release candidates for iPadOS 18.4, macOS 15.4, tvOS 18.4, and visionOS 2.4.
