Huawei is expected to be working on the next generation of its flagship Mate series smartphones. These devices are likely to be part of the Mate 70 lineup, and a new leak has hinted at a possible launch date. So let’s take a look.
Huawei Mate 70 series may be launched in September 2024
The Chinese tech giant has previously unveiled the Mate 60, Mate 60 Pro, Mate 60 Pro+, and Mate 60 RS Ultimate models. Now, Weibo user Smart Pikachu has shared additional information about the Mate 70 series. He claims that Huawei plans to release the Mate 70 line in China in September 2024. This coincides with the release schedule of Mate 60 phones.
The insider also added that the upcoming Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, and Mate 70 Pro+ models will be “stronger” than the Apple iPhone 16 series. If the September rumored announcement is true, it is clear that the brand is looking to compete with the Cupertino giant in the next generation of the iPhone in 2024. Finally, Smart Pikachu said that the company is also working on a new 1-inch device.
In other words, the upcoming Huawei smartphone may offer a 1-inch sensor for the main camera. This is most likely a new Mate or P series smartphone. For those who don’t know, the Huawei P70 series is also in development. In recent reports, we have covered rumors that the P70 may possibly come in two screen sizes. The P70 could also feature a Sony IMX989 sensor on the back and a 6.7-inch 1.5K-dot OLED display on the front with four curved edges.
