At an event in China, Honor unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Magic 6 Pro, along with the Magic 6. Let’s check out the specifications of this smartphone.

Honor Magic 6 Pro features a 6.8-inch FHD+ curved OLED LTPO display with a resolution of 2800×1280 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz (1-120 Hz 8T LTPO). The display achieves an impressive peak brightness of 1600 nits and exceptional local peak brightness of 5000 nits.
This is the first domestic screen with LTPO low-power display technology, all-day operation, 360Hz synchronized display and Dolby Vision support. In addition, the display is protected by durable Giant Rhinoceros Glass with 10x drop protection for enhanced durability.
In terms of performance, the Honor Magic 6 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and is certified by the Swiss company SGS for long-lasting smoothness and fluidity in all scenes. It runs on the new Honor MagicOS 8.0, which features AI-powered intent recognition for seamless human-machine interaction. The phone is available in a variety of storage configurations including 12GB+256GB, 16GB+512GB, and an impressive 16GB+1TB option.
On the imaging front, the Honor Magic 6 Pro boasts a triple camera setup, including a 50-megapixel ultra-dynamic primary camera with fast and accurate focus, Intelligent Variable Aperture (f/1.4-f/2.0) for superior low-light performance, and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
It also features a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera for efficiently capturing wide scenes. A standout feature is its revolutionary 180-megapixel periscope ultra-telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom, a staggering 100x digital zoom, and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), which delivers crisp, stabilized images even at high zoom levels.
The pill-shaped front camera is equipped with a 50MP+TOF sensor for high-quality selfies and depth sensing. The cameras offer three different image styles: bright, natural and textured.
The Honor Magic 6 series is equipped with a proprietary C1+ RF amplification chip, which provides a significant increase in maximum transmit gain by 41% and maximum receive gain by 51%. Honor Magic 6 Pro features support for Honor Hongyan Communication technology, which provides direct satellite connectivity to TianTong satellites.
It allows for real-time voice and two-way SMS messaging, and boasts the industry’s fastest satellite connection speed, which increases speeds by 40% and reduces standby power consumption by 50%. In addition, Honor Magic 6 Pro is compatible with major global 5G frequency bands and supports Google Mobile Services (GMS).
Honor Magic 6 Pro also offers comprehensive eye protection with five advanced technologies, including 4320Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming, natural light eye protection, sleep assisted display, hardware blue light reduction, and natural color display. The device has received eye protection certifications, including the German Eye Protection Certificate 3.0 from the German Technical Supervisory Board (TÜV) and the VICO A+ Visual Comfort Certificate. The device has also received the world’s first five-star fall protection certificate from SGS, a Swiss company, to ensure its durability in a variety of scenarios.
Honor Magic 6 Pro is powered by a large second-generation 5,600mAh Qinghai Lake battery. It supports 80W fast charging, fully charging in 39 minutes (normal mode) or 36 minutes (extreme mode), and offers the convenience of 66W wireless charging. The device is further enhanced by the Honor E1’s proprietary energy efficiency chip and Honor Dujiangyan power management system, which optimizes energy efficiency and overall performance.
Price, colors and availability
Honor Magic 6 Pro offers a wide range of colors inspired by natural landscapes. It is available in five color options: Lake Blue, Cloud Purple, Qilian Snow, Barley Green, and Velvet Black.
Honor Magic 6 Pro is available in three memory configurations: 12GB of RAM with 256GB storage for 5,699 Yuan ($803), 16GB of RAM with 512GB storage for 6,199 Yuan ($873), and the top-of-the-line variant with 16GB of RAM and 1TB storage for 6,699 Yuan ($944).
The pre-sale of the device will begin on January 11, 2024 at 21:08, and will officially go on sale on January 18, 2024 at 10:08. It will be available on a variety of platforms, including the Honor online store, authorized e-commerce platforms, Honor experience stores, and authorized retailers.
