Honda electric vehicles will have access to Tesla Supercharger

Honda and its luxury brand Acura will join the growing list of automakers providing electric vehicle owners with access to the Tesla Supercharger network in North America.

Starting in June, owners of Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX electric vehicles will be able to charge at Tesla stations. These electric vehicles are equipped with CCS charging ports, not the technology used by Tesla. This means that Honda and Acura customers will need to purchase Honda-approved fast-charging adapters from dealers. The automaker has not yet shared pricing details.

Honda said that Prologue and ZDX owners will be notified via the HondaLink and Acura EV apps when the adapters are available for purchase. The apps will also display the locations of authorized Supercharger charging stations.

In 2023, Honda agreed to adopt Tesla’s charging standard, otherwise known as NACS (North American Charging Standard). At the time, Honda said it would launch a new electric vehicle model in 2025 built to the NACS standard, but this goal has been pushed back a year.

The first model to be equipped with a NACS port will be the Acura RSX, which will be launched in 2026. It will be followed by Honda’s 0-series models, which the brand presented at CES 2025.

Other automakers that have access to Tesla’s superchargers include Ford, General Motors, Lucid, Rivian, and others.
