HMD Global, the maker of today’s Nokia phones, is now focusing on budget and mid-range devices under its own brand. However, a leaked specification suggests that HMD is preparing to re-enter the flagship market with a new device called the HMD Moon Knight.
According to information from @smashx_60 on the X social network, the Moon Knight (model TA-1691) is expected to feature a P-OLED display with FHD+ resolution and 144Hz refresh rate, although the exact screen size remains unknown.
The device is also likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, which is not Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line processor but offers performance on par with previous years’ flagships such as the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. There is no data on RAM and permanent memory yet.

One of the features is the rumored addition of POGO pins, which hints at a modular design similar to the HMD Fusion. This could make it possible to use additional accessories such as cases with additional functionality. The phone is also expected to have dual speakers and an aluminum frame.
As for the cameras, it is reported that it will be equipped with four cameras, and the design may be inspired by the Nokia Lumia. However, details are still limited, so we should expect more information and renders in the near future.
In other news, HMD Global is preparing to launch the HMD Aura 2, the successor to the budget Aura. The leaked information reveals key upgrades including a larger 6.56-inch LCD display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, a dual camera (13MP + 0.8MP), an updated 8MP front camera, and a more powerful UNISOC T603 processor with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage.
