Due to the growing number of online frauds, many organizations are working to create security systems to protect against such scams. Google is also planning to introduce a security feature to help you avoid spam messages.
According to Android Police, a “STOP” button will appear in Google Messages, which will allow you to unsubscribe from RCS messages from companies. Here’s how this initiative works and how it might affect your experience with Google Messages.
Google will add a “STOP” button
Google Messages v20241125_04 beta is working on a “STOP” button that will help users unsubscribe from RCS messages from companies that users often consider RCS advertising spam. So, how does the new feature work? First, you add to select each spam message and block it. But now with the Stop button, you can block such calls with just one click.
The Stop button will now automatically appear in RBM chats. You just need to click on it, and it will block/stop the receipt of such ads and messages. Basically, it is a special “STOP” button that helps users unsubscribe from RCS Business Messaging (RBM).
Google Messages is our primary RCS messaging app and has great features. The app offers a variety of modern messaging solutions such as read receipts, group chats, typing indicators, and end-to-end encryption. However, the app also has some loopholes. In some regions, many “trusted” companies use RCS to spam users with unwanted ads. In Google Messages, the number of advertising messages that users often perceive as RCS ad spam is growing. To stop this, the tech giant is introducing a “Stop” button.
Other updates
After clicking the Stop button, you will receive the last message from the sender. It will inform you that RBM has been deleted from the message list. Alternatively, you can also return to the business message list by sending a “START” message.
In other news, Google Chat has introduced a new feature called Huddles. The feature is based on Google Meet. Huddles allows you to initiate informal meetings directly from the chat. By default, the feature starts with an audio call. However, you can always switch to video or share the screen during a call.
