Google alerts about fraudulent calls to Pixel watches

A new AI-based feature emits a loud beep at the beginning of a call and every couple of minutes afterwards. The alert, beep, and vibration will appear in cases where there is a high probability of fraud. You can ignore the alerts if you know it’s not fraud. Try it by enabling fraud detection in the settings.

There are a few caveats, as the call fraud detection feature only works on Pixel watch 2 or 3. It must also be connected via Bluetooth to a Pixel 9 or later phone. The feature is currently only available in the US and for English-language calls.

Google first introduced Phone Picker in beta last November. It’s now available on the Pixel 9 and newer devices, but this addition allows you to see notifications without even taking your phone out.
