GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group company and leader in digital engineering, today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Sidero Ltd., a leading Irish cloud-based communications software company.
This strategic transaction is aimed at strengthening GlobalLogic’s capabilities in the dynamic communications technology sector and expanding the company’s presence in Europe, particularly in Ireland.
Companies in the communications industry are traditionally the most innovative when it comes to digital transformation. Sidero’s experience in technologies such as Radio Access Network (RAN), Self-Optimizing Networks (SON), cloud solutions and Agile development practices will complement GlobalLogic’s extensive engineering portfolio.
Based in Athlone, Republic of Ireland and Newry, Northern Ireland, Sidero’s talented team of engineers and designers will create innovative solutions for GlobalLogic’s current and future customers.

Nitesh Banga, President and CEO of GlobalLogic, said:
“We are thrilled to welcome the talented Sidero team to the GlobalLogic family.”
According to him, GlobalLogic’s extensive experience in the communications technology industry will perfectly complement Sidero’s competencies. Together, the companies are going to bring even more value to customers and strengthen their leading positions in this and other highly dynamic market segments.
GlobalLogic has long been recognized for its high professionalism in digital engineering, unique and progressive corporate culture, and many satisfied customers. Carmel Owens, CEO of Sidero, said:
“We are excited about the synergies that our combination will create and look forward to delivering new opportunities to our customers in Ireland and around the world.”
The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Under the agreement, Sidero will continue to operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of GlobalLogic. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals. The transaction is expected to be finalized in the second half of 2023.
