The National Communications Regulatory Commission (NCRC) is designed to obligate mobile operators to send traffic through direct interconnection of their networks, reads a statement made by the commission.
“Traffic through the networks of mobile communications operators must be sent through direct interconnection (direct channels) of their networks. Transit routes must be used only to ensure stability and reliability of the telecommunications networks,” the statement reads.
The commission decided to make this change in the conditions of licenses for provision of mobile communications services.
Current licensing conditions bind operators interconnecting their networks, but no priority of direct traffic before transit is regulated.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, NCRC is a body of executive power regulating the sphere of telecommunications and postal services and also it distributes radiofrequency resources and numbering capacities.
