Apple‘s Health app may be getting an artificial intelligence overhaul. In his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple is working on a much more comprehensive version of its Health app, codenamed Project Mulberry, with plans to integrate an AI agent that will “copy” a doctor to some extent and act as a personal health coach. In addition to lifestyle recommendations based on users’ health data, the app will reportedly contain educational videos from real doctors on various health-related topics.
The Health app will also put a new emphasis on nutrition tracking and may even offer tips on how to correct your body shape during workouts using the device’s camera, according to Gurman. The service, which is unofficially called Health+, may appear in iOS 19.4, which Gurman says will be released in the spring or summer of next year. In the meantime, Apple reportedly has doctors on staff whose data is used to train the AI agent and plans to open a studio near Oakland, California, where they will be able to shoot content. Don’t be surprised if Health+ appears with a famous doctor on board – according to Gurman, Apple is looking for a “great medical personality” to become the face of the service.
