Apple focuses on foldable devices: a foldable iPhone may soon appear

According to the Economic Daily, Apple is currently focusing on developing and promoting foldable products. It is expected that a foldable iPhone or iPad from Apple will be introduced by 2025.

According to market research, 80% of the world’s folding screen devices belong to Samsung and Huawei.

Apple’s entry into the VR space with the Vision Pro has attracted considerable attention and contributed to the overall progress of this product category. As with the VR space, industry experts believe that a foldable iPhone or foldable iPad will bring significant changes to the market, even if certain players have long existed in it.

According to ITHome, Apple’s iPhone business has been showing signs of weakness lately and is increasingly being affected by foldable devices from Samsung and Huawei. This could be an incentive for Apple to enter the foldable device market. However, Apple’s focus on user experience may further delay the launch of its foldable product. Most first-generation foldable devices, including Samsung’s original Galaxy Fold, were far from perfect. Apple will certainly need significant resources and time to meet user expectations.

Nevertheless, it is reported that Apple has been working on this technology for quite some time. According to a report by The Information last month, Apple has been working on prototypes of at least two flip-style iPhones. Apple reportedly wants to create a foldable iPhone with an external display.

But the folding technology has not yet been developed to prevent damage to the soft panel. The report also says that the company is looking to create a foldable iPhone that will be as thin as “current iPhone models.” A foldable iPad is also reportedly in the works.
