Up to 72 hours of home internet during blackouts is the reality that Ukrainians have with xPON. The technology proved its effectiveness during the first blackouts, and over the past 1.5 years, the number of xPON connections has grown to 46%.
Today, 3.9 million subscribers are already using the technology, which provides high speed, operation during power outages and stability of the fixed Internet.
Interactive map of the Internet
More than 2 thousand providers use xPON in Ukraine. The easiest way to find out which technology your provider uses is to use the interactive map of the Internet during blackouts. The Ministry of Digital Transformation launched it together with LUN Misto a year ago.
Initially, the map was launched for providers in Kyiv, Kyiv, Lviv, and Odesa regions, but later it was scaled up to cover the entire country. It allows users to find providers that use xPON and other technologies, find out provider contacts, connection costs, the number of hours of Internet availability during power outages, etc.
The map has recently been redesigned, with improved colors and contrast, and a “Report incorrect location” button to let users know if a point on the map is in the wrong place.
Connect with xPON
xPON technology is proving to be effective in a challenging environment where power outages have become commonplace. As a result, more and more Ukrainians are applying for connection. Over the year, the number of users in Kyiv more than doubled from 72 thousand to 172 thousand.
Ukrainians, take care of stable internet at home during power outages. Connect xPON and stay in touch with your family under any conditions!
