Apple has officially launched its first smart home hub, the HomeView, with two versions available: a standard model with a speaker base and a wall-mounted option. Both are priced at $299.
HomeView Wall Mount: What You Need to Know
While the HomeView offers a sleek integration into any smart home setup, the wall-mounted version comes with a specific caveat: it does not include a mounting bracket. This means users will need to purchase a separate mount to install the device on their wall.
Apple has partnered with Schneider Electric to offer three distinct mounting solutions, each catering to different power and connectivity needs:
1. Power Mount USB-C
This option provides a USB-C connection for power and data. It is priced at $59.95 (approximately ¥402 CNY). This appears to be the most straightforward option for users looking for a simple, modern power solution.
2. Power Mount AC
For users who prefer traditional AC power, this mount is available for $79.95 (approximately ¥536 CNY). It offers a standard electrical connection suitable for many home installations.
3. Power Mount PoE
The most advanced option is the Power over Ethernet (PoE) mount, priced at $129.95 (approximately ¥871 CNY). This mount is expected to be available in early 2027. PoE allows the HomeView hub to receive both power and data over a single Ethernet cable, simplifying installation and reducing clutter, especially in professional or complex smart home environments. The accompanying description notes its thin profile and vented in-wall power module.
The addition of a dedicated smart home hub like HomeView signifies Apple’s continued commitment to expanding its ecosystem for smart home control and automation. The tiered pricing and options for the wall mount suggest Apple is aiming to cater to a range of user preferences and installation requirements. The company’s “Welcome home” event was the backdrop for this latest announcement, underscoring the focus on residential technology.
