Huawei has unveiled the exciting new features coming to its premium smartwatches, including the HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2 and the ULTIMATE DESIGN (Purple Gold Edition), with the upcoming HarmonyOS 7 update. This significant upgrade promises to enhance the user experience with a suite of new health monitoring capabilities, interface refinements, and added functionalities.
Key Features of HarmonyOS 7 for Huawei Watches
The HarmonyOS 7 update brings a substantial overhaul to the health tracking features. The existing “Health Summary” app is being upgraded to “Health Insights”, offering a more comprehensive assessment of the user’s physical condition. This new app aims to provide deeper understanding and actionable insights into various health metrics.
A notable addition is the High Uric Acid Risk Assessment Research feature. This specialized research program will help users monitor and potentially identify risks associated with high uric acid levels, a crucial factor for managing conditions like gout and kidney health. While not a diagnostic tool, it offers valuable data for proactive health management.
Beyond health, HarmonyOS 7 introduces other practical features. Users can look forward to the “Myriad Module” watch face, offering a new aesthetic and potentially customizable display options. Additionally, a Recorder app is being integrated directly into the watch, allowing for quick voice note-taking and memos on the go without needing a smartphone.
Interface Enhancements
The visual experience on these Huawei smartwatches is also set to be refreshed. HarmonyOS 7 introduces a new system interface with subtle but impactful changes. Both the watch faces and the multitasking list will feature new light and shadow effects, adding a touch of visual flair and modernity to the user interaction.
Public Beta Phase
Currently, the HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2 and HUAWEI WATCH ULTIMATE DESIGN (Purple Gold Edition) smartwatches are participating in the public beta testing phase for HarmonyOS 7. This allows eager users to experience the new features before the official rollout.
How to Participate in the Beta Program:
- For Huawei Phone/Tablet Users: Navigate to the “My Huawei / Services” app, go to the “Home” page, and select “Upgrade Early Access”. Follow the prompts to register.
- For Users with Other Brands of Phones/Tablets: Access the “My Huawei” mini-program on WeChat. On the homepage, tap the corresponding product image under “Hot Activities” and follow the instructions to fill in your information and register.
This beta program provides an excellent opportunity for users to provide feedback and help Huawei refine the HarmonyOS 7 experience for the official release.
