MediaTek has officially launched its new Dimensity CX C10 Max chip, specifically designed for Googlebooks. This marks the debut of the Dimensity CX ‘Computing Experience’ series, signaling MediaTek’s strategic push into the Chromebook market.
Cutting-Edge Technology for Chromebooks
The Dimensity CX C10 Max is built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm process, ensuring top-tier performance and power efficiency. At its core, the SoC features an all-big CPU cluster comprising eight high-performance cores: one Cortex-X925, three Cortex-X4, and four Cortex-A720 cores. This configuration is complemented by a substantial 12MB of L3 cache and 10MB of SLC cache, promising swift data access and responsive multitasking.
Immersive Graphics and AI Capabilities
For graphics-intensive tasks and a smooth user experience, the Dimensity CX C10 Max integrates an 11-core Immortalis-G925 GPU. This powerful graphics processing unit is designed to handle demanding applications and entertainment with ease.
Artificial intelligence capabilities are also a key focus, with the chip boasting a 45 TOPS NPU. This neural processing unit will accelerate AI-driven features and applications, enhancing productivity and user interaction on Chromebook devices.
Enhanced Connectivity and Media Support
The Dimensity CX C10 Max also includes an Imagiq 1090 ISP, supporting camera sensors up to 32MP. This ensures high-quality image capture and processing for built-in cameras. Connectivity is bolstered with support for Wi-Fi 7 at speeds up to 7.3Gbps and Bluetooth 6.0, providing users with the latest in wireless communication standards.
Memory support includes LPDDR5X-9600, and storage is handled via UFS 4.0, ensuring fast data transfer rates. The SoC offers robust I/O options with three PCIe Gen4 lanes, one full-function USB 5Gbps port, and two eUSB2v2 ports. Furthermore, it can handle up to three simultaneous 4K video streams, making it suitable for advanced multimedia experiences.
Strategic Move into the Chromebook Segment
The introduction of the Dimensity CX C10 Max highlights MediaTek’s commitment to expanding its presence in the laptop and computing markets. Following the earlier announcement of the 3nm Dimensity Ultra 910 processor for high-performance Chromebooks, this new SoC caters to a broader range of Googlebook devices, potentially enhancing performance and features across the ecosystem.
This move by MediaTek is expected to drive innovation and competition within the Chromebook segment, offering consumers more powerful and feature-rich options.
