China Mobile has officially unveiled its new AI Trusted Computing (AITC) initiative, alongside a strategic partnership aimed at building a collaborative ecosystem for this technology. The announcement was made during the main forum of the 2026 China Computing Power Conference.

A New Era for AI Security

Positioning itself at the forefront of AI security, China Mobile’s AITC leverages a fully domestically produced computing power base from Mobile Cloud. This innovative solution integrates core technologies such as confidential computing, domestic cryptography, and information flow privacy protection. It promises to deliver multi-form confidential computing power and confidential Tokens, offering a comprehensive AI security solution that covers the entire lifecycle of AI training, inference, and data utilization in the cloud.

The core promise of AITC is to enable customers to use public cloud services with the same level of security and privacy as they would a private cloud. This addresses significant pain points faced by data-sensitive industries, including finance, government, manufacturing, healthcare, and academic research. These industries often struggle with the risks of privacy data leakage, intellectual property theft of AI models, and a lack of trust in computing environments when moving to the cloud.

Addressing Key Security Concerns

AITC tackles these challenges head-on with a three-pronged approach:

  • Data Security: Moving beyond traditional plaintext computing, AITC employs end-to-end encryption to ensure data is “usable but not visible,” safeguarding sensitive information during processing.
  • Model Security: Breaking free from the limitations of traditional private, plaintext deployments, AITC allows AI models to be deployed confidentially in the public cloud. Models run in ciphertext throughout the process, eliminating risks of security breaches and ensuring that models are “computable but not extractable.”
  • Environment Security: The solution upgrades security from traditional perimeter defenses to hardware-level attestation of the environment. This guarantees that the operating environment is trustworthy and tamper-proof throughout its use.

Extending Security to the Edge

A significant advancement with AITC is its pioneering integration of China Mobile’s AI-eSIM and Super SIM technologies. This creates an AI security solution that synergistically combines the Internet of Things (IoT) and the Internet of People (IoP), extending the security perimeter all the way to terminal devices. By preventing key leakage and data tampering at the physical level, AITC provides users with chip-level, end-to-end security assurance.

Building a Collaborative Ecosystem

To foster the growth and adoption of AITC, China Mobile has initiated a strategic partnership to build a collaborative ecosystem. At the conference, China Mobile, as part of the Central State-owned Enterprise AI Confidential Computing Alliance, joined forces with a distinguished group of industry partners. These collaborators include China Electronics, Bank of China, CNNC, CAICT, Huawei, ZTE, Alibaba Cloud, Inspur, Hygon, Moore Threads, and Zhaoxin. This collective effort signifies a strong commitment to advancing trusted AI computing.

With the launch of AITC and the establishment of this broad alliance, China Mobile is making a significant stride towards enabling secure and trustworthy AI adoption across a wide range of industries, paving the way for greater innovation and data utilization in the public cloud era.
