Guoxing Aerospace has announced a significant step forward in its ambitious “Star-Compute” plan with the launch ceremony for the first batch of eight satellites from its 02 constellation. The ceremony took place on September 1st at the Taizhou Computing Satellite Innovation Base.

“Star-Compute” Plan Takes Flight

These eight newly developed satellites, all independently built by Guoxing Aerospace, have successfully completed rigorous, full-process testing organized by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology. All test results met or exceeded the designed specifications, signaling their readiness for space deployment.

The dispatch ceremony marks a critical milestone for the “Star-Compute” plan, which aims to construct a future computing network by interconnecting a massive constellation of 2800 computing satellites. The eight satellites from the 02 constellation are slated for launch in the near future, at which point they will begin collaborative networking with the satellites already in orbit from the 01 constellation.

From Concept to Scale

The “Star-Compute” plan was formally introduced to the global stage by Dr. Lu Chuan, founder of Guoxing Aerospace, alongside partners during the World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit in 2024. The event also saw the launch of the “Three-Body Computing Constellation” initial constellation and the global release of the “Star-Compute” (star-compute) initiative.

The 01 constellation of the “Star-Compute” plan achieved a historic launch on May 14, 2025, establishing itself as the world’s first space computing constellation. Subsequently, on October 13 of the same year, the 02 constellation of the “Star-Compute” plan was officially unveiled. This unveiling signified a pivotal transition for the project, moving from initial technological validation to large-scale deployment and implementation.

The development and impending launch of these eight satellites underscore Guoxing Aerospace’s commitment to building a distributed computing infrastructure in space. This initiative promises to revolutionize how computing resources are accessed and utilized, potentially enabling new applications and services that require global, high-capacity, and low-latency computation.

The integration of the 02 constellation satellites with the existing 01 constellation will enhance the overall capability and coverage of the space computing network. This synergy is expected to pave the way for advanced space-based data processing and artificial intelligence capabilities, further pushing the boundaries of what is possible in orbit.

Guoxing Aerospace’s “Star-Compute” plan represents a bold vision for the future of computing, leveraging the unique advantages of space-based infrastructure to create a powerful, interconnected network. The successful testing and upcoming deployment of the first eight satellites from the 02 constellation are crucial steps in realizing this ambitious long-term goal.
