Nubia has officially announced its upcoming smartphone, the NaviX Ultra, set to launch on September 16th. The company is highlighting a remarkable feat of engineering: packing a massive 7100mAh battery into an incredibly slim 7.62mm chassis. This move aims to challenge the notion that users must choose between a sleek design and long-lasting battery life.

A Collaborative Development Effort

As previously reported, the Nubia NaviX Ultra is a collaborative project between ZTE and ByteDance, integrating the ‘Doubao’ mobile assistant and is being referred to as the ‘second generation Doubao phone’. This partnership suggests a focus on smart features and potentially a unique user experience.

High-End Specifications Expected

Under the hood, the NaviX Ultra is anticipated to feature the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 processor, promising top-tier performance for demanding applications and gaming. The substantial 7000mAh silicon-carbon anode battery is expected to support both 90W and 100W wired fast charging, alongside wireless charging capabilities, ensuring quick power-ups and convenient charging options.

Advanced Imaging and Memory

In terms of camera hardware, the device is rumored to sport a versatile triple-lens system, likely comprising a 50-megapixel main sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and a periscope telephoto lens for enhanced zoom capabilities. For selfies and video calls, a 50-megapixel front-facing camera is expected.

A significant announcement regarding the phone’s memory came on September 4th, when Nubia, in collaboration with CXMT (Changxin Memory Technologies), revealed that the NaviX Ultra will be equipped with LPDDR5X RAM operating at a blazing 10667Mbps. CXMT emphasized that this marks the first mass production application of domestically produced 10667Mbps high-speed LPDDR5X chips, signaling China’s entry into the commercial market for top-tier mobile DRAM speeds.

Key Partners on Board

The extensive list of collaborators for the Nubia NaviX Ultra underscores the device’s premium positioning. Partners include major industry players such as Qualcomm (Snapdragon), BOE (Display), CXMT (Memory), Samsung Semiconductor, and Goodix Technology (Biometrics/Fingerprint sensors), among others.

With its blend of ultra-thin design, robust battery, flagship performance, and advanced components, the Nubia NaviX Ultra is shaping up to be a compelling offering in the smartphone market. The September 16th launch date will be eagerly awaited by tech enthusiasts.
