Frontier Developments, the acclaimed studio behind Planet Coaster and Jurassic World Evolution, has officially announced a new partnership with Disney. The agreement will see Frontier develop and publish a brand-new game based on Disney’s extensive intellectual property portfolio.

A New Era of Disney Gaming with Frontier

This collaboration marks a significant step for both companies. Frontier Developments, renowned for its expertise in creative management simulation games, will fully fund the new Disney title. The studio plans to leverage its deep experience and technical prowess in the genre, which has previously brought beloved franchises like Jurassic World and Planet Coaster to life.

The UK-based developer has a prior history with Disney, having developed the motion-controlled game Kinect: Disneyland Adventures in 2011. This title was later re-released and made playable without the Kinect peripheral. Given Frontier’s proven track record in applying its signature simulation gameplay to licensed intellectual properties, many anticipate that this new project could be a Disney park-themed simulation game. This expectation is further fueled by the success of the Jurassic World: Evolution series, which masterfully blended park management with the iconic dinosaur IP.

Details Remain Under Wraps

While the announcement has generated considerable excitement within the gaming community, specific details regarding the upcoming game are scarce. Official announcements have yet to reveal information about the gameplay mechanics, target platforms, or a potential release window. Fans eager to learn more will have to wait for further updates from Frontier Developments and Disney.

Frontier’s Continued Growth

In addition to the exciting Disney collaboration, Frontier Developments is reportedly working on another unannounced title within its own Planet series. The company’s recent financial reports indicate a period of strong growth. For the fiscal year ending May 31, 2026, Frontier reported a revenue increase of 16% to £104.8 million (approximately ¥952 million RMB), with operating profit soaring by 44% to £19 million. The creative management simulation genre was the primary driver of revenue, accounting for 90% of the company’s income in the past fiscal year.

This partnership with Disney is poised to be a major highlight for Frontier Developments, potentially expanding its reach and introducing its beloved simulation gameplay to a new generation of Disney fans.
