Dongfeng Nissan has announced an exciting collaboration between its NX8 SUV and the popular cultural program “Shang Xin Le Gu Gong” (Newly Presented by the Forbidden City). The automaker revealed that a brand new car color will be unveiled for the NX8 on August 28th, coinciding with this special partnership.

NX8: A Feature-Rich Extended-Range SUV

The Dongfeng Nissan NX8, which made its official debut on April 8th of this year, is the brand’s first extended-range electric SUV. It was launched with seven different models, offering a price range between 159,900 and 209,900 yuan.

Under the hood, the NX8 boasts an 800V silicon carbide platform and is equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries from CATL. A standout feature is its support for 5C ultra-fast charging technology. The vehicle measures 4870mm in length, 1920mm in width, and 1680mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2917mm. For enhanced safety, the A-pillar is constructed with 2000MPa steel, and over 70% of the car’s body is made from high-strength steel.

Powertrain and Battery Technology

The NX8 features the “Cloud Shield Battery 2.0” system, designed for a lifespan exceeding 600,000 kilometers. The extended-range version is powered by a 1.5T turbocharged engine delivering a maximum power of 109 kW, paired with an electric motor producing 195 kW. For those opting for the pure electric variant, there are two single-motor options available, offering either 215 kW or 250 kW of power.

Advanced Technology and Safety Features

Inside the cabin, the Dongfeng Nissan NX8 is equipped with the Qualcomm 8295P chip and a new AI voice assistant named Nico. The vehicle also features the momenta intelligent driving system, which utilizes 29 high-perception sensors. It offers 22 active safety functions, including city navigation pilot (NOA), highway navigation pilot (NOA), and parking assistance.

Cultural Collaboration

The partnership with “Shang Xin Le Gu Gong” suggests a blend of automotive innovation with traditional Chinese culture. This collaboration aims to resonate with consumers who appreciate both cutting-edge technology and rich heritage. The upcoming announcement of a new car color is expected to add another layer of appeal to the NX8, potentially drawing inspiration from the aesthetics of the Forbidden City itself.

Further details on the new car color and the specifics of the collaboration will be revealed on August 28th. This move by Dongfeng Nissan highlights a growing trend in the automotive industry to connect with consumers through unique cultural partnerships and personalized options.
