NASA is set to combine the excitement of American football with the grandeur of space exploration in a unique event. On October 11, 2026, prior to the New York Jets vs. Cleveland Browns game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, three F-5 fighter jets will perform an aerial demonstration. Notably, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson will be at the controls of one of the aircraft, highlighting the significance and scale of the event.

A Glimpse into the Future of Space

From 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Eastern Time, before kickoff, stadium attendees will have a special opportunity to engage with NASA’s endeavors. A “NASA Experience Zone” will be set up near the Jets’ tailgate area. Here, fans can learn about the ambitious Artemis program, which aims to return humans to the Moon, participate in interactive games, and take photos with a giant inflatable model of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, a critical component of Artemis missions. This offers a fantastic chance for a broad audience to connect with space achievements and future explorations.

“Inspiration Tour” and America’s 250th Anniversary

This event is part of a larger NASA initiative known as the “Inspiration Tour.” The tour’s objective is to foster connections between the agency, the public, academia, and industry partners, underscoring America’s leadership in the space sector. The tour will culminate with a grand public exhibition called “MAX POWER,” scheduled for November 7-8, 2026, near the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This exhibition, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the United States, will showcase cutting-edge advancements in air and space transportation, featuring the latest aircraft, spacecraft, and robotic systems that will shape the future of aviation and spaceflight.
