Great Wall Motor’s Haval brand is set to launch the new H9 Power Soul Edition on August 24th. This distinct variant has already made its debut at the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show, generating significant interest.

A Striking New Finish

The Power Soul Edition boasts a specially developed paint job, a result of a deep collaboration with global coatings giant PPG. This bespoke finish underwent an extensive process, involving 60 rounds of formula refinement and over a hundred meticulous grinding sessions. The use of micron-level pigment adjustments ensures a remarkably smooth and seamless transition of color. After 45 rounds of dedicated tuning, a pure, exclusive hue was locked in, applied through a rigorous seven-step factory painting process. Furthermore, the paint utilizes Grade 8 high-performance light-resistant pigments, which have endured 3000 hours of harsh simulated environmental testing. This guarantees exceptional fade resistance for a decade of outdoor use, and the paint even features a self-healing capability for minor scratches.

Robust Dimensions and Off-Road Prowess

The Haval H9 measures 5070mm in length, 1960mm (or 1976mm) in width, and 1950mm in height, with a substantial wheelbase of 2850mm. Its off-road credentials are also impressive, featuring a minimum ground clearance of 226mm. The approach angle stands at 32 degrees, the departure angle at 26 degrees, and the ramp breakover angle at 24 degrees. In non-laden conditions, the vehicle can safely ford through water up to 800mm deep.

Powertrain Options and Towing Capability

Prospective buyers will have two distinct powertrain options. The first is a 2.0T gasoline engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Alternatively, a more potent 2.4T diesel engine is available, coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission. A notable feature across all models is the standard 2.5-ton towing qualification, allowing owners to legally tow trailers, personal watercraft, and other recreational equipment.

Advanced Chassis and Drivetrain

The H9 Power Soul Edition is equipped with a sophisticated chassis system, featuring a double-wishbone independent suspension at the front and a multi-link non-independent integral axle suspension at the rear. The vehicle comes standard with Haval’s TOD intelligent four-wheel-drive system. This system is enhanced with Mlock mechanical locking and both front and rear differential locks, further complemented by the addition of specialized Rock and Expert driving modes, optimizing performance for challenging terrains.

The upcoming launch of the Haval H9 Power Soul Edition promises to bring a compelling combination of advanced aesthetics, rugged capability, and versatile performance to the SUV market.
