This week, Ukrtelecom hosted a delegation from Finland, including representatives of the National Security Agency for Supply (NESA) and executives from leading Finnish telecom operators Elisa and DNA. The visit was aimed at exchanging experience in the operational management of telecommunications infrastructure in times of war.
Key aspects of the meeting
- Sharing resilience experience: Ukrtelecom shared its unique experience of overcoming the challenges faced during the three years of full-scale war in Ukraine. This includes ensuring the continuity of communications, infrastructure management and cyber defense of networks.
- Importance for Europe: Ukrtelecom CEO Yuriy Kurmaz emphasized the importance of Ukraine’s experience for the international community, especially given the growing number of crises in Europe, such as blackouts.
- Openness to partnership: Ukrtelecom has expressed its readiness to partner with European colleagues, share its knowledge and discuss joint investment projects in Ukraine.
- Studying Ukrainian solutions: The Finnish delegation, which also included representatives of the Finnish Armed Forces, visited one of Ukrtelecom’s facilities to study specific cases of telecommunications infrastructure management in crisis situations.
- Ukrtelecom experts: Ukrtelecom’s key experts shared their experience, including Dmytro Mykytyuk (CTO), Igor Yaremchuk (Deputy CEO for Commercial Affairs), Oleksiy Khakhlyuk (Senior Business Development Advisor), Pavlo Holitsyn (Deputy CEO for Information Technology) and Ivan Kolomoyets (Deputy CEO for Corporate Affairs).
The visit, organized by Miltton Ukraine, underscores the growing interest of European countries in Ukraine’s expertise in critical infrastructure and supply chain security.
