The Government has adopted a decree that will simplify the receipt of state support for the Defenders of Ukraine. Servicemen, veterans and their families will be able to receive 12 different services through a single application in Diia. The Ministry of Digital Transformation is currently preparing to implement these services on the Diia portal.
Thanks to the adoption of the resolution, there will be no more long trips to different institutions and filling out a pile of papers, but only a few minutes on your smartphone. One application and you save hours of your time, nerves, and travel costs.
What services will be available in Diia
Diia will offer 12 services for the military and veterans. Among them:
- the status of a person with a disability as a result of war;
- one-time disability allowance – financial compensation for damage to health sustained during combat missions;
- disability pension – a monthly payment to ensure a decent life for servicemen and women who became disabled during service;
- early retirement pension – an opportunity to receive a pension earlier than the established term due to the peculiarities of service and health condition;
- auxiliary means of rehabilitation – provision of prostheses and other means of rehabilitation to adapt to new conditions and return to active social life;
- status of a family member of a fallen defender or defender;
- one-time financial assistance – financial support to the families of fallen servicemen and women;
- Survivor’s pension – regular payments to families of fallen defenders;
- social services – comprehensive support for the military, veterans and their families;
- utility benefits – discounts on housing and communal services, heating, gas, and solid fuel purchases.
How to apply
Services for military and veterans will be available on the Diia portal by submitting an electronic application. No additional documents and no queues outside the offices.
There is no question of receiving services through the Diia app.
The comprehensive service will be implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation jointly with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Social Policy with the support of the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine and the Government of Sweden.
