PC brand XMG has made a significant move, launching its first 18-inch class laptop in nearly 15 years. The new models, the XMG PRO 18 and its Value Edition (VE) variant, were officially unveiled on October 6th. This marks a notable expansion for the brand into larger-form factor gaming and professional notebooks.

Introducing the XMG PRO 18 Series

The XMG PRO 18 and PRO 18 VE boast impressive dimensions of 400 x 291.5 x 24.9~26.5 mm. Both laptops are equipped with a robust 3-fan cooling system designed to handle demanding tasks. Powering the system is a substantial 99.8Whr battery, ensuring extended usage times. The PRO 18 weighs in at 2.9kg, while the slightly leaner VE model comes in at 2.82kg.

Display and Performance

The displays on both models are a key highlight, featuring a sharp 2560×1600 resolution. They offer a brightness of 500 nits and achieve a full 100% coverage of both the sRGB and DCI-P3 color gamuts, making them ideal for color-critical work and immersive viewing experiences.

Under the hood, the laptops provide ample room for expansion with two DDR5 SO-DIMM memory slots and two M.2 SSD bays. For connectivity and user interaction, XMG has integrated a four-speaker system, a keyboard with a 1.8mm key travel, a spacious 152×97 mm precision touchpad, and an FHD camera with facial recognition capabilities. Connectivity is also cutting-edge, with support for Wi-Fi 7 and a comprehensive array of ports including Thunderbolt 4, Mini DisplayPort 2.1, a 2.5GbE RJ-45 port, and an SD Express card reader.

Configuration Options and Pricing

The flagship XMG PRO 18 comes configured with an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti laptop GPU. The display on this model boasts a refresh rate of 300Hz. With a starting configuration of 32GB DDR5-5600 RAM and a 1TB SSD, the price begins at 3,299 Euros (including 19% VAT), which is approximately 24,786 Chinese Yuan at current exchange rates.

For those seeking a more budget-friendly option, the XMG PRO 18 VE features an Intel Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus processor paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 with 12GB of VRAM. The display’s refresh rate is adjusted to 180Hz on the VE model, while maintaining the same 2560×1600 resolution and color accuracy. This configuration, also starting with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, is priced at 2,849 Euros (including 19% VAT), roughly equivalent to 21,405 Chinese Yuan.

The introduction of the XMG PRO 18 series signifies a strategic expansion for the brand, catering to users who demand larger screen real estate and high-performance capabilities in a portable package. The availability of two distinct configurations allows for a wider range of consumer needs and budgets to be met.
