Xiaomi makes another breakthrough in the smartphone sector with the launch of the Civi 4 Pro, the first phone to boast the world’s first Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. This powerful chip, coupled with deep integration with Xiaomi’s The Paper OS, promises a significant leap in performance, image processing, and artificial intelligence capabilities.
The Civi 4 Pro is already available for pre-order on JD.com ahead of its official release on March 21 at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Pre-orderers receive a free 5000 mAh Xiaomi power bank in the form of a lipstick.
Under the hood of the Civil 4 Pro is a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor manufactured on TSMC’s 4nm process technology. This processor inherits the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 architecture, which includes a 3.0 GHz super core, 4 performance cores clocked at up to 2.8 GHz, and 3 efficient cores clocked at 2.0 GHz.
Building on the success of the Civi 3, the Civi 4 Pro is likely to have the same stunning display – a 6.55-inch hyperbolic OLED screen with a 2400×1080 resolution, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, a sensitive 240Hz touch sampling rate, and impressive brightness. The Civi 3 offered 12-bit color depth and high-frequency PWM dimming for a comfortable viewing experience, features that have likely been carried over to the new model.
While details about the camera and other features of the Civi 4 Pro have not yet been revealed, Xiaomi‘s focus on imaging has resulted in significant improvements over the Civi 3: 35% faster portrait shooting, 57% faster night shooting, 153% faster HDR processing, and 235% improved burst shooting speeds. The Civi 3 also features a 4500 mAh lithium-cobalt oxide battery with 67W fast charging support. While we are waiting for more information about the camera and other features, the Civi 4 Pro is becoming a powerful competitor in the smartphone market.
