Today, as planned, Xiaomi launched the CIVI 4 Pro smartphone in its home market. This device is the latest addition to the CIVI line, which was originally designed for a female audience but is now attracting a wider audience. Its success is attributed to its attractive design and powerful premium hardware. Let’s see what CIVI 4 Pro offers.
Design and display
The CIVI 4 Pro is based on the design of the CIVI 3, without any major changes. On the back of the device, there is a round camera island that holds three lenses and an LED flash module. The camera island is surrounded by a textured metal ring that matches the color of the back panel. As for the colors, CIVI 4 Pro offers four variants (except for the special edition colors): Spring Field Green, Soft Mist Pink, Breeze Blue and Black. Among them, Spring Field Green stands out for its glossy finish, offering vibrant spring tones and patterns reminiscent of running water, achieved through a unique “color gilding” process. The Spring Field Green variant also features a textured back panel, possibly made of vegan leather.
The sides of the device are flat, with curved ends to make it more comfortable to hold in your hand. On the front, it has a slightly curved display with ultra-narrow bezels: 1.6 mm, 1.44 mm and 2.02 mm on the top, sides and bottom, respectively. The display has a 6.55-inch diagonal and a resolution of 2750 x 1236 pixels and a pixel density of 460 PPI. It offers full coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and can reach a peak brightness of 3000 nits.
It also supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and has a Wet Touch feature that eliminates ghosting when your display is wet. It also has a pill-shaped notch that accommodates the two cameras inside. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and has a touch sensor under the screen for easy unlocking. As for sound, CIVI 4 Pro has stereo speakers. The device has a total thickness of 7.45 mm and weighs 179 grams.
Productivity
Under the hood of the CIVI 4 Pro is the recently introduced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 octa-core processor, which is manufactured on TSMC’s 4nm process technology, offering a peak clock speed of 3.0 GHz on a Cortex-X4 main core. The processor is paired with 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Xiaomi claims that the device can maintain an average frame rate of 59.4 FPS during a 30-minute Genshin Impact run. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 also provides a significant performance boost for AI-based applications.
The device is equipped with a 4700 mAh battery with 67W fast charging support, which ensures that the device is fully charged in 40 minutes. To keep the temperature under control, the device uses a cooling system with a 4184 mm² steam chamber. In terms of software, the device runs HyperOS based on Android 14.
For connectivity, the phone supports 5G, dual-band WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4 with AAC/LDAC/LHDC support. There is also NFC and infrared communication. For navigation, the device offers Beidou, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, QZSS, and AGNSS with positioning support.
Camera
The camera system is another key area where the brand has made some major improvements. The CIVI 4 Pro has an OIS-stabilized 50-megapixel f/1.63 OmniVision Light Fusion 800 sensor with f/1.63 aperture and a Leica Summilux lens. The phone also features a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 portrait + telephoto camera with f/1.98 aperture and autofocus. The third camera on the rear panel has a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 120° viewing angle and f/2.2 aperture.
The front of the device is equipped with a dual camera with a 32-megapixel main sensor with a 78° viewing angle, f/2.0 aperture, 2x portrait zoom, and autofocus. The second camera has a 32-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 100° viewing angle, ultra-sharp 4K image quality, AI distortion correction algorithm, f/2.4 aperture, and EIS video stabilization system. All cameras on the device have individual Leica settings and special Leica shooting modes.
