Xiaomi is preparing to launch its new devices, including the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, both in China and globally. The company is also working on other devices behind the scenes. One of them is the Xiaomi Civi 4, which we have heard about thanks to leaks.
Today, a Digital Chat Station informant shared details on Weibo that seem to relate to the Xiaomi Civi 4; although he did not explicitly mention the name of the device.
The DCS leak suggests that the upcoming Xiaomi Civi 4 will be powered by a Snapdragon 8-series processor. If this turns out to be true, it will be a significant improvement over the Dimensity 8200 compared to its predecessor, the Civi 3.
However, this leak contradicts the previous ones, which talked about the Dimensity 8300 Ultra for Civi 4. In addition, DCS suggests that the device may have a subtly curved 2.7D display with a resolution of 1.5K and a sleek metal frame.
Moreover, according to another Weibo user, Smart Pikachu, Xiaomi is positioning the Civi 4 as a direct competitor to Honor smartphones.
He also suggests that the device could have a co-branded version. Given that the Civi 3 also had a co-branded Disney model, it wouldn’t be surprising if Xiaomi follows a similar strategy with the Civi 4. He also mentions that the device will have a curved screen that supports the DCS leak.
Moreover, the informant suggests that Xiaomi may release the Civi 4 smartphone around May. Given that Xiaomi released the Civi 3 last May, it makes sense to expect similar launch dates for its successor.
We’ll have to wait for official confirmation to find out about the Civi 4, but these preliminary leaks suggest that the device will be a compelling mid-range phone. We’ll keep you posted on any new news about it.
