Xiaomi 15 Pro: battery and charging data leak

A fresh leak from a Weibo Digital Chat Station informant has shed light on the battery and charging capabilities of the Xiaomi 15 Pro. The phone reportedly features a 5400 mAh battery and supports 100W charging for both wired and wireless options.

In the comments to the post, the user noted that the Xiaomi 15 Pro engineering prototype currently uses 120W wired charging. However, this faster option may not be available in the final product due to thermal management issues.

Digital Chat Station also explained the choice of battery capacity. According to the consultant, the 5400 mAh battery is a deliberate decision to make the phone thinner and lighter.

Although this capacity may seem smaller than some competitors, the expert notes that the battery has a higher energy density. For example, the Realme GT 7 Pro is rumored to have a 6000 mAh battery, but the Xiaomi 15 Pro’s higher energy density battery design should provide better efficiency.

We know more about the Xiaomi 15 Pro thanks to constant leaks over the previous months. The display is expected to be a micro-curved panel with a 2K resolution and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for biometrics.

The camera system will consist of three lenses, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor with a large aperture, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope lens with 3x optical zoom.

The main camera will reportedly use an OmniVision OV50K sensor with innovative TheiaCel technology to improve low-light performance and dynamic range. In addition, the design of the camera module may change slightly, as the flash is said to be placed outside the main body.

As for the processor, the device will debut with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip. However, there have been rumors that 8th-generation phones might cost more due to the chip’s expensive manufacturing process. Although there have been no specific reports about the Xiaomi 15 Pro price yet, it is possible that the phone could be more expensive if these rumors are true.
