GlobalLogic, one of the largest IT companies in Ukraine, has conducted a survey among professionals about their intentions for 2024. More than 1000 professionals took part in the survey.
In times of uncertainty, it is difficult to plan for the future. However, studies show that planning things we can influence is extremely beneficial. It gives you a sense of control and improves your mental balance.
Therefore, the company turned to its specialists and asked them to tell us about their plans for 2024. It turned out that after the start of the full-scale invasion, almost a third of GlobalLogic’s specialists stopped making long-term plans. A quarter of specialists limit themselves to planning no more than a month in advance, and only 14% have retained the habit of making detailed and long-term plans.
Priorities of Ukrainian IT professionals
Experts have determined that in the new year, they will take care of their families and the well-being of their loved ones. Personal and professional development, including education, mental health, and career achievements, are second. In addition, a significant number of respondents noted the importance of volunteering, as well as physical development and sports achievements.
Personal intentions for 2024
Intentions for the coming year among IT professionals are no less diverse. In particular, more than a third of respondents plan to learn a new programming language. Other intentions include collecting FPV drones, solo hiking in the mountains, learning a musical instrument, adopting an animal from a shelter, renovating an apartment, completing a master’s degree, returning to their hometown, starting a family, and donating more than UAH 100,000 to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
By the way, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, GlobalLogic specialists have managed to raise more than UAH 54 million in favor of the Armed Forces through the internal telegram channel alone.
What IT planning looks like
