The Vivo X100 series debuted in China last November. Unlike previous generations, the X100 lineup included standard and pro models. The brand did not announce a Pro+ variant. Since then, there have been rumors about the timing of its launch. Recent reports suggest that the X100 Pro+ might be called the X100 Ultra. A few days ago, the company’s vice president also hinted at the arrival of a future flagship smartphone.
A reliable Digital Chat Station informant has shared on Weibo that the upcoming flagship, often referred to as Thanos, is confirmed to be called the Vivo X100 Ultra. It should arrive in May in China. We will know the exact launch date in the coming weeks.
Vivo’s Weibo post also indicates that the launch is close. He thanked for the attention and support of the smartphone and also spoke about technical obstacles. The device will have a professional camera.
Leaks and rumors suggest that the Vivo X100 Ultra will feature an E7 AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It will be the first Vivo smartphone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor under the hood. The upcoming device is expected to feature a 50MP LYT-900 main camera and a 200MP periscope lens with 200x digital zoom.
It is also reported that Vivo is working on X100s and X100s Pro smartphones, which were leaked in the past. It is not yet known whether all future X100 series devices will be released at the same time.
