Get ready for a new contender in the lightweight gaming mouse arena! VGN has announced the upcoming launch of its Dragonfly F2 Turbo+ wireless lightweight mouse, set to go on sale tonight at 8 PM local time for an attractive introductory price of 319 Chinese Yuan (approximately $50 USD).
Performance Meets Ergonomics
The VGN Dragonfly F2 Turbo+ boasts a symmetrical, versatile mold and weighs in at an incredibly light 51±3g. This featherlight design is achieved through VGN’s proprietary zero-hole lightweight structure, featuring an integrated unibody top shell and a matching unibody bottom plate. Internally, it houses a Kailh 160 million click optical micro-switch and a PAW3955Extreme sensor, promising top-tier performance.
Developed in collaboration with professional esports players over two years, the mouse features a low-profile front end that tapers slightly wider at the rear, creating a streamlined, ‘fastback’ curve. This design aims to reduce pre-travel by approximately 8mm and shift the apex forward, catering to high-frequency clicks and rapid maneuvers essential for competitive gaming.
Cutting-Edge Internals
At the heart of the Dragonfly F2 Turbo+ is the flagship Nordic 54LM20 main controller, paired with a custom PAW 3955 EXTREME sensor from PixArt. This potent combination supports 1 DPI micro-stepping and can be overclocked to an astonishing 50000 DPI. It also offers pixel-level sensitivity adjustment and 11 levels of LOD (Lift-Off Distance) adjustment, boasting an impressive tracking accuracy of 99.98%.
A standout feature is its native dual 8K polling rate support for both wired and wireless connections, with an 8K receiver included as standard. For users looking to harness the full potential of 8000Hz polling, VGN recommends a PC configuration of Intel i7 9700k or higher / Ryzen 7 3700X or higher, NVIDIA RTX 2060 or higher / AMD RX5700 XT or higher graphics card, 16GB of RAM, and a monitor with a refresh rate of 240Hz or above.
Durable Switches and Premium Components
The mouse is equipped with specially tuned Kailh 160 million click optical micro-switches. These offer a 60% improvement in lifespan compared to traditional switches, delivering a balanced feel. For those who prefer a different tactile experience, a version with Omron 100 million click mechanical micro-switches will also be available.
The scroll wheel features a custom matte UV metal paint process, applied using automotive 3M waistline color-blocking masking and spraying techniques, protected by a matte UV coating. It utilizes a TTC custom dustproof gold wheel encoder, which has undergone nearly 1000 tuning and testing cycles with TTC to ensure enhanced dust resistance and longevity.
Extended Battery Life and Enhanced Grip
The Turbo+ version includes a 500mAh battery and supports VGN’s proprietary V-Charge fast charging protocol, allowing for up to 10 hours of use with just 1 minute of charging.
The underside of the mouse features an enlarged Teflon (PTFE) feet for smooth gliding. The surface is finished with a new, delicate skin-like coating that offers a comfortable texture, is resistant to stains, easy to clean, and prevents oil buildup.
Versatile Software Support
Users can manage the mouse’s settings through the proprietary V HUB 3.0 dual-end driver, which supports both web-based and Windows client interfaces. The mouse also features onboard memory, allowing users to customize button assignments, DPI settings, polling rates, and more, all stored directly on the device.
VGN plans to offer different versions of the Dragonfly F2, with varying specifications and potentially switch options, allowing users to choose the model that best suits their preferences and budget.
