Ukrainian Government creates group on anti-corruption digital tools

anti-corruption digital tools

More than three years of work by the Ministry of Digital Transformation have shown that digitalization is one of the most effective anti-corruption tools. In 2020-2021 alone, the economic and anti-corruption effects of online services amounted to more than UAH 16.3 billion.

The creation of an Interagency Working Group to implement anti-corruption digital products will enhance this effect. It will be headed by Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov and NACP Head Oleksandr Novikov.

According to the State Anti-Corruption Program, 63 digital products are to be introduced in two years. In particular, to digitalize various areas to prevent corruption schemes and fraud:

  • improve the Unified Register of State Property Objects;
  • to put into operation a single electronic Urban Planning Cadastre;
  • create the Unified Information System of the National Informatization Program.

An interagency group will plan and monitor the implementation of these digital reforms.

The group will include representatives of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Finance. It will also include representatives of programs and projects that help the Government of Ukraine reform the public sector.
