The mobile network company Trump Mobile, which is part of the Trump Organization, has been targeted by hackers. The hacker group BYOD has claimed responsibility for breaching Trump Mobile’s systems and leaking the personal information of 3,615 users. The compromised data includes users’ names, email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, and order details.
Cyberattack Details
According to a report by International Cyber Digest, the BYOD hacking group announced the data leak. While the attackers have not yet publicly demanded a ransom, Trump Mobile has not yet responded to requests for comment from the media.
Regarding the method of intrusion, the BYOD group informed International Cyber Digest that they used an information-stealing malware to infect the device of an employee working for Liberty Mobile, the company behind Trump Mobile. However, cybernews outlet Cybernews suggested that the hackers may have utilized a Remote Access Trojan (RAT) to gain access to Trump Mobile’s private information.
BYOD claims that after gaining access to the employee’s device, they shifted their focus to an exposed Trump Mobile subdomain. The group also asserted that they currently maintain control over a customer management backend for Trump Mobile. To support their claims, BYOD provided a screenshot of the backend interface, which displayed the personal information of one customer. However, independent confirmation of this backend access has not yet been obtained.
Brand Promises vs. Reality
When Trump Mobile launched in June 2025, it made ambitious promises, stating that the service would “revolutionize the mobile industry.” This significant data breach and the ensuing controversy cast a stark contrast between the brand’s initial marketing and its current operational reality. The incident raises serious questions about the security measures in place and the protection of user data for a company associated with a prominent political figure.
The leak underscores the persistent threat of cyberattacks and the vulnerabilities that can exist even within established organizations. As the situation unfolds, further details regarding the full extent of the breach and any potential impact on the Trump Organization are anticipated.
