The iQOO 13 series will receive Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and an improved battery

iQOO introduced the iQOO 12 series in China back in November 2023. The company then launched the iQOO 12 in India in December as the country’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone.

Four months after that, rumors about its successor, the iQOO 13 series, began to appear online. A leak from Mobile China and a Smart Pikachu informant revealed what we can expect from the upcoming line.

Just like the iQOO 12, the iQOO 13 is expected to come in standard and professional variants. The standard model is rumored to have a 1.5K flat display, while the Pro version will boast a curved display with a higher 2K resolution.

This is the same display setting as in the iQOO 12 line. So it looks like there are no major changes on that front. The leak also suggests that both models could use displays from Samsung and domestic Chinese display manufacturers, likely BOE.

Perhaps the most noticeable improvement may be the chipset. The iQOO 13 series is rumored to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC, which boasts special Oryon processor cores and an advanced GPU for superior AI capabilities.

Battery life is another area where the lineup could be modernized. Leaks suggest a significant increase in battery capacity and faster charging speeds. However, none of the leaks reveal the exact size of the battery or the charging speed of the smartphone.

Moreover, the leaks also do not specifically mention the launch date of the iQOO 13 series. However, given that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to be launched in October 2024, it is unlikely that the iQOO 13 series will be released earlier.
