The design of the new 12.9-inch iPad Air has been revealed

Last October, Apple was rumored to be working on a larger iPad Air with a 12.9-inch display. This will make it the largest iPad Air and the first iPad with a 12.9-inch screen. Among Apple’s tablet lineup, only the iPad Pro has a 12.9-inch model. These rumors seem to be true, as the 91mobiles publication has obtained a render of the 12.9-inch iPad Air.

Renders of 12.9-inch iPad Air reveal design

As you can see from the images, these are CAD renders of the 12.9-inch iPad Air model shared by industry sources. The renders give us an idea of the possible design of the upcoming iPad Air. It looks very similar to the current iPad Air model with a thin body and full-screen design.

We can assume that the 12.9-inch iPad Air model will have a Touch ID button on top, just like the previous model. The speaker grilles are also located on the top and bottom, the side switch is also visible on this iPad Air model, and the USB-C port is also located on the bottom.

The rear camera of the iPad Air has undergone a slight design change: now we see a frame around the lens and an LED flash. Compared to the current iPad Air model, the rear camera sensor is now open.

Judging by these renders, it seems that Apple is not going to significantly update the design of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro model. This is understandable, as the iPad Air has already received a fairly updated design with a full-screen display, Touch ID button, and flat edges.
