Sennheiser has unveiled its latest flagship true wireless earbuds, the MOMENTUM True Wireless 5, with a significant focus on sustainability. A key redesign feature allows users to replace the batteries in both the earbuds and the charging case, extending the product’s lifespan and reducing electronic waste. This DIY-friendly approach means users can easily swap out aging batteries with a small screwdriver, bypassing the glued construction found in many traditional earbuds.
Pricing and Availability
The MOMENTUM True Wireless 5 will be available for purchase starting September 3rd at a price of $299.95, matching the launch price of its predecessor. Customers can choose from five metallic finishes: Lavender Violet, Copper, Denim Blue, Graphite, and Cream.
Enhanced Battery Life and Features
Battery life sees a notable improvement. The earbuds themselves offer up to 12 hours of listening time on a single charge. When combined with the slimmer, Qi-wireless charging-enabled case, the total playback time extends to an impressive 40 hours. This is a significant upgrade from the previous generation, which offered 7.5 hours per charge and 30 hours total.
Improved Audio and Connectivity
Sennheiser has also refined the earbud tips and the adaptive active noise cancellation system for better noise reduction performance. A four-microphone array maximizes ANC capabilities while ensuring a natural-sounding transparency mode. The new earbuds support Dolby Atmos and spatial audio, featuring interactive head tracking. Connectivity has been boosted with Bluetooth 6.0 and a new “Robust Mode” designed to enhance stability in high-interference environments.
