Samsung is adding even more artificial intelligence to its lineup of budget phones. The new Galaxy A56, A36, and A26 now feature what the company calls “stunning intelligence,” allowing for a number of new AI-powered image editing features that are already available in the more expensive Samsung S25 lineup.
One of these features is Best Face, an AI tool that allows you to swap the facial expressions of up to five people in a photo in motion if someone blinks or looks away from the camera. It is similar to Google Pixel’s Best Take feature and was launched in Galaxy S25 in January.
It includes an “enhanced” object removal tool and photo filters, as well as Google’s Circle to Search feature, which allows you to search for text and images by simply circling them on the screen. (Samsung added Circle to Search to some A-series devices last August). The phones will also support up to six years of Android OS and security updates, which is longer than Samsung previously offered for the previous generation.
In addition to the new AI features, Samsung has also made small changes to the design of each phone. In addition to the oval shape of the rear camera body, all three devices now have the same 6.7-inch display with Full HD Plus resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, as opposed to the smaller 6.6-inch screen in the A55 and A35 and the 6.5-inch screen in the A25. The A56 features the same 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, 50-megapixel primary camera, and 5-megapixel macro camera. It also has a 12-megapixel selfie camera (which is smaller than the A55’s 32-megapixel front-facing camera).
While the A56 comes with an upgraded Exynos 1580 chip, the A36 has the latest generation Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip. All three A-series devices have a 5000 mAh battery, but only the A56 and A36 support 45W charging and feature a “larger vapor chamber” for improved performance. Samsung has also extended the IP67 dust and water protection standard to the A26 for the first time. The phones will ship with Android 15 and will be available in a variety of colors that vary by device.
The most expensive of them, the Galaxy A56, costs $499 and will go on sale in the US “later this year”. The A36 will be available on March 26 exclusively at Best Buy for $399, and the A26 will cost $299 when it launches on March 28. The Galaxy A56, A36 and A26 will also be available in the UK on March 19 for £499, £399 and £299 respectively.
