Samsung is once again taking aim at Apple with its latest advertising campaign, titled “Switchers.” This new series of ads features reality TV stars and former sports celebrities acting as therapists in a mock couples counseling session, humorously encouraging iPhone users to switch to Samsung Galaxy devices.

A Familiar Strategy

This isn’t the first time Samsung has playfully mocked Apple. Over the years, the company has targeted various iPhone features, from the notch on the iPhone X to perceived lack of innovation and camera performance. While some of these past campaigns have been retired, Samsung’s comparative marketing approach has remained a constant.

The “Switchers” Campaign

Following the launch of the new iPhone models, Samsung has been actively promoting its own foldable smartphones. The “Switchers” campaign takes this a step further by enlisting public figures to address common hesitations iPhone users have about switching to Android. The ads are set in a counseling room led by Dr. Orna Guralnik, known for her work on the Amazon Prime Video series “Couples Therapy.”

The featured couples represent different walks of life:

  • Reality TV stars Ciara Miller and Dylan Efron.
  • Retired NFL players Clay Matthews and Nick Foles.
  • Former “Love Island” contestants Aniya Harvey and Carl Lee Schmidt.

Addressing iPhone User Concerns

In each pairing, one individual is a Samsung user, tasked with convincing their partner, an iPhone user, to upgrade to a superior device. Dylan Efron, Nick Foles, and Aniya Harvey champion Samsung, highlighting the shortcomings of iPhones and detailing Samsung’s advantages. Key features they emphasize include the richer communication services (RCS) with emoji reactions and typing indicators, improved AirDrop-like file sharing, and Samsung’s Smart Switch app for seamless data migration.

These are precisely the pain points for Ciara Miller, Clay Matthews, and Carl Lee Schmidt. The Samsung advocates playfully tease their partners about their concerns, such as the social stigma of green chat bubbles, the difficulty of adapting to a new ecosystem, and the fear of losing all their data during a switch.

Galaxy’s Appeal

Meanwhile, the hesitant partners are visibly intrigued by the sleek design of the Galaxy Fold8, the expansive multitasking display of the Fold8 Ultra, and the privacy-focused anti-peeping screen on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The ad suggests these devices are compelling enough to overcome any lingering doubts.

The campaign concludes with a voiceover posing the question: “All switching dilemmas have been solved. What are you waiting for?” This tagline directly challenges potential switchers, implying that Samsung has removed all barriers to adopting their devices.

Samsung’s “Switchers” campaign cleverly uses humor and relatable scenarios to highlight the benefits of its Galaxy lineup while playfully poking fun at the perceived limitations of the iPhone. By featuring celebrities and addressing specific user concerns, Samsung aims to persuade iPhone users that a switch to a Galaxy device is not only possible but also advantageous.
