Samsung is preparing an ultra-thin Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone

Samsung is releasing a slim version of the Galaxy S25. The Galaxy S25 Edge was teased at the end of the Unpacked event, and it did indeed appear to be significantly thinner than the other phones Samsung unveiled today.

There’s very little to go on in Samsung’s teaser. The voiceover describes the phone as “the culmination of our most innovative technology” and praises the device’s apparent sleekness. Watching Samsung’s livestream, you’ll see components such as the vapor chamber, cameras, and metal bezels, but only a barely visible silhouette of the Galaxy S25 Edge. At Samsung’s live event in Korea, the new phone was indeed unveiled. You can take a look at it in the embedded video below.

At its event, Samsung did not share details on when the Galaxy S25 Edge will be released, but Bloomberg reports that the phone will be available “in the U.S. and other markets by mid-year.” The device will also “use some of the same technologies as the new Ultra model,” only in a thinner body. “Samsung hasn’t decided on a price yet,” Bloomberg writes, “but it has acknowledged that it will be cheaper than the Ultra, which starts at $1,299.

In 2025, the company will not be the only one trying to lure customers with thinness. Apple will reportedly also introduce the iPhone 17 “Air” later this year.
