Samsung introduces new sleep tracking metrics

Samsung has just announced new sleep tracking tools available in the Health app. Among them is a new analysis tool that leverages other SmartThings-enabled devices. Every morning, users receive a “sleeping conditions report” that takes into account factors such as temperature, humidity, air quality, and light intensity.

The app will also allow people to automatically adjust room settings using the aforementioned connected devices. This should help people “create the perfect sleep environment.”

There is another tool called “sleep time recommendations” that suggests the optimal bedtime and wake-up time for each individual user. This is determined based on an analysis of sleep patterns, nighttime habits, and room conditions. Finally, the app now includes a new mindfulness tracker that helps manage “mood, breathing, and stress levels.”

The company also made several announcements regarding the Galaxy Ring ahead of the Samsung Unpacked presentation on January 22. On that day, new sizes of the smart ring will go on sale, including two larger variants. Thus, the number of available ring sizes will increase to 11, with three color options. In addition, the device is now available in new regions. These countries include Greece, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, and many others.

This news probably indicates that Galaxy Ring 2 will not be announced at Unpacked. Instead, the event should be dedicated to new smartphones and (of course) artificial intelligence, i.e. tools.
