Nintendo's Alarmo will be available to everyone in March

Another day, another announcement from Nintendo that isn’t the next Switch console. Today, the company revealed that its Alarmo alarm clock will be available in select retail stores starting in March of this year. The announcement covers the US, UK, and Europe.

The $99 alarm clock was launched late last year, but it’s currently only available to those with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Today’s news opens it up to the general public. The motion-controlled device allows users to turn it off by simply standing up, although in my experience this feature is not very useful if you sleep in the same bed. The device also includes a number of sounds and themes based on Nintendo games, including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with a recent update.

This news comes in the same week that Nintendo is expected to unveil details about its next console, which could happen on January 16. It also follows a number of other announcements made by the company in recent months. Most recently, Nintendo announced the development of the Lego Game Boy, which was preceded by announcements of a museum, a music service, and a test of a mysterious MMO.
