Samsung continues to expand its product line. In this regard, the company presented its new products at the MWC 2024 exhibition held in Barcelona. However, the Korean tech giant’s new products are somewhat different from the usual categories. Focusing on wearable technologies, Samsung presented at Mobile World Congress the Galaxy Ring health tracking ring, the XR headset as a competitor to Apple’s Vision Pro, and the Botfit robot designed to help those who have difficulty walking. We bring to your attention detailed information…
Samsung Galaxy Ring, XR headset and Botfit robot
Samsung is undoubtedly one of the most innovative technology manufacturers in the world. The tech giant competes not only in a specific industry, but also in every conceivable product category. The latest addition to their lineup has been a number of innovative products in the field of wearable technology. Among them, the most intriguing is undoubtedly Botfit, a wearable robot designed to help those who have difficulty walking.
Samsung Botfit walking assistant
Botfit is a robot that helps to improve the user’s mobility and keeps them active. It is primarily designed for people who have difficulty walking due to reasons such as neurological conditions, musculoskeletal disorders, or aging. Samsung is committed to enabling people in these and similar categories to lead more comfortable and independent lives.
The product development stage for Botfit is complete and it is expected to enter mass production in the second or third quarter of this year, with a release expected in the last quarter of this year or early 2025. Less than 100,000 units are planned to be produced initially.
Galaxy Ring
Another surprise from Samsung is the long-awaited Galaxy Ring. Thanks to the tech giant, faces, which for many of us were an accessory or a symbol of loyalty, have now become smart. The main purpose of the Galaxy Ring is to track sleep and health data. According to the company, the ring provides up to 9 days of use on a single charge and is water and dust resistant with IP68 certification.
Of course, one of the most functional aspects, as with other smart wearables, is notifications. The Galaxy Ring will notify you of incoming calls, messages, and notifications via vibration. While we’re not sure if everyone wants to get a vibration on their finger every time they get an email, we’re sure it’s important to some. In addition, it will have features such as music management, presentation management, and interaction with voice assistants. The price of Galaxy Ring has not yet been officially announced, but it is expected to go on sale in the fall.
Samsung Galaxy XR
Apple has recently made a significant impact around the world with its Vision Pro, which it recently launched on the market. In many countries, including the United States, people can be seen everywhere with this mixed reality headset. Of course, Samsung was quick to respond, showing off a headset called the XR at MWC 2024.
The product was developed in collaboration with Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm. Although we don’t know all the details, we can say that it will be equipped with a micro OLED display and, in addition to 8 cameras, will have a ToF sensor. Like Vision Pro, it will be controlled by eye movements, voice commands, or hand gestures. There is no official price information yet, but it is expected to be unveiled later this year and hit the market in 2025.
