Samsung Galaxy A55 design renders and color options revealed ahead of launch

Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series is scheduled to launch on January 17, and pre-orders for the Galaxy S24 have already began in India. After the launch of the Galaxy S series, Samsung usually introduces its premium mid-range Galaxy A series smartphones shortly after. The flagship device of the A series is expected to be the Galaxy A55 this year.

Prior to its official release, detailed renders of the Galaxy A55 were made public by Android headlines, showing off the smartphone’s design and available color options. The device boasts a flat back with three protruding camera rings. While the sides remain mostly flat, there is a notable design element where the power button and volume rocker are located – Samsung has chosen to make them bulge and curve in this particular area instead of leaving them completely flat.

There was speculation that this time the Galaxy A55’s frame might be made of metal, and that’s what we’re going to get, apparently. Moving on, the front of the device has noticeable but smooth bezels (except for the bottom one). There is also a centered hole for the front camera. As for the colors, the Galaxy A55 will be available in colors like Awesome Iceblue, Awesome Lilac, and Awesome Navy.

Other than that, not much is known about the Galaxy A55. A previous Geekbench listing showed that the device will be equipped with an Exynos 1480 SoC, which has four 2.75GHz performance cores and four 2.05GHz efficiency cores. The phone has 8GB of RAM, and will likely have up to 256GB of storage. Other than that, we can expect it to debut with Android 14 on board, and by the time it launches, One UI 6.1 will likely be released. More details are expected to emerge as we get closer to the launch, so stay tuned.
