Retro PlayStation U interface options return to PS5

The PlayStation 5 is getting a software update that brings back the look and feel of past generations. After fans applauded the use of past Sony generations’ looks on the consoles’ home screens last year at the PlayStation 30th anniversary celebration, the company has announced that it is working to make these aesthetic options permanent. The promised return of the four retro UI styles is the main event of the upcoming PS5 update.

Unfortunately, the startup sounds that accompanied each generation will not return. But the visuals can be changed at will in the Appearance tab of the Settings menu.

Another important component of the upcoming software update is a feature called Audio Focus, which can help increase immersion during a gaming session using headphones or a headset. With these presets, players can choose to amplify voice, low sounds, high sounds, or quiet sounds. You can also set the gain to low, medium, or high.
